A Niue Holiday is a wondrous South Pacific island experience. Known affectionately as ‘The Rock’ Niue, is a geological wonderland and is the largest coral island in the world. Niue has a rugged coastline with plunging chasms, reef pool, rich rainforest and multi-coloured caverns.

Nuie doesn’t offer the same beaches and island holiday experience to be found in other South Pacific Holidays but there is still plenty to see and do. Travelling to Nuie is about getting out there and seeing nature in all her glory, rather that lazing on a beach. Between June and October, whales are seen for hours on end and often as close as just 50 metres off shore! It is a truly amazing experience to get so close to these giant mammals without even getting on the water! It’s simply wondrous to lie back and relax over a drink at the bar at the Matavai Resort and watch the whale spectacular taking place right in front of you.

Niue is also very popular among fishing enthusiasts offering some of the best big game fishing around. Prepare yourself for the thrill of the fight as you catch Tuna, Wahoo or Malin – if you’re lucky! One of the best parts about fishing in Niue is that the waters get deep close to shore so you can get out there quickly and the lines are out and the action has begun before you know it. Flights to Niue depart once a week but there is a lot to keep you entertained for a week or two. It is truly a spectacular island, very natural and uncrowded– a great place to explore nature at her best!
